 Mosquito x Malaria Interactions

Aimed at understanding the evolutionary and ecological constraints of the Mosquito x Malaria interactions, we are studying the physiological, immunological and behavioral aspects of such interactions as well as their interconnection with the evolution of drug and/or insecide resistance and/or the ecological variations in the bacteria communities constituting the mosquito microbiote and/or acting as endosymbiontes.

Our main strength and originality arise from our comparative approaches, in the field and in laboratory conditions, between the naturally evolving systems of the human sytems formed by P. falciparum & Anopheles gambiae and the avian malaria system formed by P. relictum x Culex pipiens pipiens.
