Theme :
My research concerns the Ecology of Health, focusing in the study of determinants (population, genetics, environmental) and mechanisms of emergence, persistence and spread of infectious diseases in the human populations, at different spatial scales (from local to global).

My work, mainly based on statistical analyses of epidemiological data and comparative approach, focuses on the spatio-temporal dynamics of infectious diseases and their evolution and concern the vaccine-preventable diseases in the South countries. Consequently, I am interested in understanding the impact of vaccination (i) on the dynamics of the diseases in terms of seasonality, periodicity, synchrony and amplitude of epidemics and (ii) on other key epidemiological parameters as age of infection or duration of immunity. All these approaches are closely linked to mathematical modeling in order to improve the vaccination strategies on a long term perspective. In particular, I have been working on pertussis, measles and meningococcal meningitis, 3 persistent vaccine-preventable diseases.

More recently, I have also started to work on vector-borne diseases as dengue.
